iWARP/RDMA
iWARP delivers converged, low-latency fabric services to data centers through Remote Direct Memory Access (RDMA) over Ethernet. The key iWARP components that deliver low-latency are Kernel Bypass, Direct Data Placement, and Transport Acceleration. Intel® Data Direct I/O Technology Intel® Data Direct I/O Technology is a platform technology that improves I/O data processing efficiency for data delivery and data consumption from I/O devices. With Intel DDIO, Intel® Server Adapters and controllers talk directly to the processor cache without a detour via system memory, reducing latency, increasing system I/O bandwidth, and reducing power consumption. PCI-SIG* SR-IOV Capable Single-Root I/O Virtualization (SR-IOV) involves natively (directly) sharing a single I/O resource between multiple virtual machines. SR-IOV provides a mechanism by which a Single Root Function (for example a single Ethernet Port) can appear to be multiple separate physical devices. Intel® Ethernet Power Management Intel® Ethernet Power Management Technology provides solutions to common power management approaches by reducing idle power, reducing capacity and power as a function of demand, operating at maximum energy efficiency whenever possible, and enabling functionality only when needed. Flexible Port Partitioning Flexible Port Partitioning (FPP) technology utilizes industry standard PCI SIG SR-IOV to efficiently divide your physical Ethernet device into multiple virtual devices, providing Quality of Service by ensuring each process is assigned to a Virtual Function and is provided a fair share of the bandwidth. Virtual Machine Device Queues (VMDq) Virtual Machine Device Queues (VMDq) is a technology designed to offload some of the switching done in the VMM (Virtual Machine Monitor) to networking hardware specifically designed for this function. VMDq drastically reduces overhead associated with I/O switching in the VMM which greatly improves throughput and overall system performance |
For PCs with PCI Express (PCIe*) slots, the Intel® Gigabit CT Desktop Adapter offers the newest technology for maximizing system performance and increasing end-user productivity. Specifically, the Intel Gigabit CT Desktop Adapter uses auto-negotiation to ensure the adapter runs at the highest available network speed (10, 100, or 1000 Mbps), and it maintains full bandwidth capacity with the dedicated bandwidth of a PCI Express input/output (I/O) bus to provide connectivity you can count on. Based on the low-power Intel® 82574L Gigabit Ethernet Controller, this desktop adapter offers optimal performance in a low-cost, low-power, compact profile. Teaming support and an array of other advanced features enable customers to utilize this adapter as an entry-level server adapter as well.

This PCIe USB 3.0 card couples your peripheral and network connections into a single, scalable solution.
By combining three USB 3.0 ports and one RJ45 port onto a single card, you only need a single PCIe slot for installation, which lets you free up space for other add-ons or upgrades and get more out of your desktop or server. Combo-card convenience and cost-savings If you have separate cards for your USB and network connections, this versatile card overcomes the aggravation of running out of PCIe slots while helping to reduce clutter inside your PC. This dual-purpose card is perfect for building or upgrading your computer. It helps you save money by avoiding the additional costs of purchasing separate USB 3.0 and Gigabit Ethernet adapters. Flexible install options and legacy device support You can rest assured this card will fit in your small form-factor system, if needed. It features a dual-profile design that makes it easy to install in either standard or low-profile cases. The combo card makes it easy to connect peripherals such as your external hard drives or mobile devices. Plus, it’s backward compatible with USB 2.0 and 1.x, so you won’t have to replace all of your existing USB devices. Gigabit connectivity and network management Functioning as a network adapter, the card delivers wired network access in locations where Wi-Fi® is unavailable or unreliable. Support for advanced features such as jumbo frames and VLAN tagging means you can optimize network traffic as needed. Effective USB 3.0 performance enhanced by UASP This high-performance SuperSpeed USB 3.0 adapter card supports data transfer rates up to 5 Gbps and is enhanced with UASP support, which can perform ~70% faster read speed and 40% faster write speed over traditional USB 3.0, when paired with a UASP-enabled enclosure. The PEXUSB3S3GE is backed by a StarTech.com 2-year warranty and free lifetime technical support. |
